Operation
A 150 litre pressure vessel is used to store compressed air which is fed to a number of diaphragm valves.
The valves are controlled by a mini-PLC which has the advantage of permitting individual programming for different installations.

Quick-release coupling
The use of multi cable plugs, connectors and quick-release couplings allows for easy removal of the installation during boiler inspection. A fixed installation of the system on inspection doors is also possible, allowing removal of the system together with the inspection door. Using the mini-PLC, the valves are activated automatically in sequence, and the pipes governed by the valve are blasted with compressed air.

Example
Normally the compressed air is blasted for 4/10 of a second and the interval between blasts is 5 minutes, giving a cleaning cycle of 12 times per hour. Both the duration of the blast and the cleaning cycle can be adjusted as required, depending on the type of fuel, the amount of fouling and boiler output. With a cycle of 12 blasts per hour the air consumption amounts to 675 l/hr at 0.8 MPa, which is equivalent to 5400 l/hr „open air" (= 1 kW). The pressure vessel is designed to operate between 0.75 - 0.8 MPa (7.5 - 8.0 bar).

Average daily consumption: 24 KWh
Average monthly consumption: 720 KWh

NB: Very low annual running costs!
